How to Groom a Labrador Retriever at Home

“The Labrador Retriever — joyful, loyal, and usually covered in a light dusting of their own fur. Their coat may seem easy, but anyone with a black jumper knows better. Let’s keep things under control, shall we?” — Lola

    Weekly with a rubber brush.
Daily during shedding season with a deshedding brush.
  • Bathing: Every 6–8 weeks with a gentle shampoo designed for shedding or sensitive skin.
  • Ear and Eye Care: Check for and clean build-up weekly.
  • Paw & Nail Care: Trim nails every 2–3 weeks and check paw pads for cracks after adventures.
  • Teeth: Brush with a dog-safe toothpaste 3 times/week minimum

When to call Lola’s Pet Salon

  • When fur tumbleweeds take over your hallway.
  • When ears smell a bit “post-swim.”
  • Or when your Lab could use a proper blow-dry, nail tidy, and a whisper-quiet dental clean.
