How to Groom a French Bulldog at Home

“Ah, the French Bulldog—a squat little noble with a heart of gold and wrinkles to spare. Though short of coat, they are rich in character, and their folds, oh their folds, require a careful touch! With the right attention, your Frenchie will remain the debonair darling of every park bench and café.” — Lola

At-Home Grooming Routine

  • Weekly Brushing: Use a rubber grooming mitt or soft bristle brush once or twice a week to remove loose hairs and distribute skin oils.
  • Facial Folds: Clean the facial wrinkles gently with a damp cloth or vet-approved wipes daily. Dry thoroughly—moisture can lead to irritation or infection.
  • Bathing: Every 4–6 weeks with a gentle, dog-safe shampoo. Avoid over-bathing to protect their sensitive skin.
  • Ear Care: Check weekly and gently clean with a vet-approved solution.
  • Paw & Nail Care: Trim nails every 2–3 weeks and clean between paw pads, especially after walks.
